The Circle Ends
‘The Circle Ends’ EP Review
Dutch/Swiss Christian metal band The Circle Ends have finally released their EP this month, complete with touches of Korn-style sounds
The Circle Ends hails from both Switzerland and Holland, with primary members Steff Linder leading on vocals, while Tim Quispel (TimQ) does the guitar-work. Their tours around Europe have focused on themselves being an ‘acoustic metal’ band, ever since they won the Dutch Band Battle a few years ago after losing both their drummer and bassist. On this EP, bassist James ‘J.J’ Jenkins and drummer Tony Morra complete the main part of the band, with weird effect (keyboard) loops done courtesy of one Jeff Pitzer, creating more diversity in their songs. Featuring a cover of U2′s ‘The Fly’, the band wants to pave new ground with this record, as they explore new sounds and types of songwriting.
We are excited to write this e-mail to you. This coming Friday we will release our new EP!
This last year was marked by traveling. We recorded the EP in Nashville TN and we toured throughout Switzerland, Austria and Slovakia. In Belfast, Ireland, we recorded a video clip. To get this international vibe going on, mastering of the EP took place in Los Angeles CA. The artwork was done by a German artist.
The distribution deal we signed will cover most parts of Europe. And finally, through iTunes the EP will be available around the globe. There is no way to escape the sound of The Circle Ends anymore!
For us as a band it was a big honor to record a cover of the well-known U2 song “The Fly”. Later this year, we will release a video clip for this song. Check out the “Essence TV Episodes” at our YouTube Channelto get a taste of beautiful Ireland and our love for cell phones.
On Wednesday April 13th, we will release our new website. So, be sure to check out www.TheCircleEnds.com by then.
Friday April 15th will be the day to request the record in your local music store. Or simply download the EP at iTunes or Spotify.
A special thank you goes to all our sponsors and friends who invested in this EP. Without them, this EP wouldn’t be released. Or to say it right, without them there wouldn’t be a band called The Circle Ends.
As always we love to hang out with you. For those who live in Switzerland we will play a couple of shows this coming June. So if you don’t live in Switzerland be sure to say “Hi!” on FaceBook, otherwise we will see you in Switzerland.
Take Care,
Steff and TimQ
1st Review of the EP
NeverTheLess was founded nine years ago. This metal band worked hard and did lots of gigs In 2007 the group broke through to the finals of a Dutch band contest.
Because among other things the bass player dropped out during the preliminary rounds, the final decision was made to the tough metal sound to be exchanged for a wonderful acoustic sound.
Steff (lead singer) and TimQ (guitarist) found their musical identity on this evening and decided to continue in this style. With this The Circle Ends was born.
Shortly after that the partnership with World Vision and NGO Reck led to it that group began touring in Holland, Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Slovakia.
The ‘marriage’ with World Vision was a logical step. The songtexts of the group are not only about child abuse, drug use and the Third World, but also about hope.
The stunning new EP from the Dutch-Swiss formation was recorded in Nashville, USA. On this self-titled album are four great songs, with musical cooperation by James “JJ” Jenkins (former bassist of the popular band East West). Top producer Jeff Pitzer, who previously worked with famous acts like The Backstreet Boys, Oleta Adams and Faith Evans, produced this album. The result is: Solid and provocative rock (“fat metal sound”) with excellent that express hope.
